Can Hypnosis Help with COVID Vaccines?

I read an article about COVID vaccines in Israel. COVID vaccines for children 5-11 years old have recently been approved and hypnotherapy is being considered as an option to help with needle anxiety. Fear of needles is more serious than one might think, and a study from Oxford University found that it may account for "10% of the cases of vaccine hesitancy." Offering hypnotherapy sessions could allow people to get more comfortable with the idea of a vaccine and ease the hesitancy.
I also found it interesting to learn that Israel has some of the strictest laws surrounding hypnotherapy. It is illegal for anyone not holding a hypnotherapist license to carry out the practice. I think this may be a good thing, as it can help prevent people from being scammed by fake hypnosis practices and allows for it to be taken more seriously as a medical treatment.

When I first read your title, I was so curious to see what hypnosis had to do with vaccinations. This is a brilliant topic to discuss! We have all become so politically charged that we’ve overlooked the fear of needles being the deciding factor in receiving the vaccine. At one point in my own life, I was willing to get sick rather than to take a blood test or receive a shot. I also agree with Israel’s strict laws, as it holds those who are licensed accountable and makes sure that everything is done with purpose and everyone is in safe hands. I appreciated this post and truly enjoyed reading! Also love your site, I hope you continue beyond the…
I never realized that fear of needles account for such a large portion of hesitancy to the COVID vaccine. Also, I've always been a skeptic when it comes to hypnosis, even after watching my classmates senior year of high school get hypnotized into doing crazy things. As such, I'd be curious to see the data that backs this theory regarding hypnotherapy as a viable option to help with needle anxiety.
This is a really interesting issue that I hadnt seen addressed often, even now that needles feel so common. I am not shocked to hear that needle anxiety is still a very common thing, I remember hating them as a kid and honestly don’t enjoy them now. Im glad to hear there are ways that have a chance of working to treat this, besides using something drastic like anesthesia.
Interestingly enough, I have heard of hypnosis curing many fears such as this. I know many people who have a fear of needles and it forces them to not want to get certain vaccinations. I think if scientists come out with more than a few studies about this, people would be more inclined to want to engage with hypnosis to help their fear. Great post!
This is a really interesting idea to use hypnotherapy for needle anxiety. I also feel like when people try to tackle certain issues--like people not getting vaccinated--they often fail to recognize or do the required research to learn about the population that is involved. Researching and discovering that fear of needles is a major factor to vaccine reluctance and refusal is a step to actually solving the problem because it discovers the why. Proposing hypnotherapy is a really interesting possible solution if people would consent and I liked your use of Israel for an example
